Thank You for Making Our 4th Annual Empty Bowls Successful!

Glaze bowls with Zilla Pottery for Empty Bowls
Want something fun to do on September 20th or 21st?

Bring your creativity between 9am & 1pm to the New Hope Farmer’s Market (4401 Xylon Avenue North, New Hope, MN 55428) on September 20th or Market in the Valley (7800 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley, MN) on the 21st.

For a suggested donation of $8 you can glaze two professionally thrown bowls. All are welcome, no one will be turned away for lack of money. One bowl will be donated to Empty Bowls. The second you can proudly take home. It’s fun for just you, or the whole family.

Thanks to Zilla Pottery for donating the bowls and training and New Hope Farmers Market and Market in the Valley for helping to sponsor the event. There is no need to sign up ahead of time.

The original Empty Bowls is a grass roots community event started in the 1990’s in Michigan by two teachers. Since then, that event has spread to communities nation-wide. Four years ago, two intrepid volunteers took up the charge and started Empty Bowls in the Robbinsdale School District to support PRISM and NEAR food shelves, both of which serve families who live within the district. Last year, nearly $14,000 was raised to help alleviate hunger in our community. This year the need in our community is even greater and our goal is to raise $20,000.
